The owner needs to realise not all diners are using a cheap meal deal voucher! We had booked for 7pm and arrived on time only to be told to wait over there on some scruffy seats. No staff approached us to see if we'd like a drink, after about 15 minutes we asked if we could order drinks! After half an hour we asked if our table was ready. The wait staff were pleasant but the owner left a lot to be desired. The food was good but nothing that special. When one of our party complained about the lack of service when paying our bill (over $440) the chef/owner was exceedingly rude and said to not come back! Well we are locals, have been there before, will certainly not be returning and will certainly not be recommending this restaurant.

Had the delightful experience to partake in degustation delight at this place. Wonderful experience. The flavours, the presentation, the wine, the staff and by no means least the chef. Thank you to you all for a wonderful night.

We had a superb meal last saturday here at Absynthe. Sensational meal as always, we are locals and have been here several times and seems to get better and better each time. I am always raving about our meals here to friends and family. Warm greeting from waiters, lovely staff all around. The bread rolls at the beginning of the meal are just perfect, from appetizer through to dessert the food is fantastic, with beautiful presentation. Their desserts are devine! French dining at it very best. Am already looking forward to our next meal here. We will be back soon. Complements to the Chef!

After reading the reviews here, we were worried about going to Absynthe. Like so many others, we bought the living social voucher to see what it was like. We were blown away with how friendly the staff were, how incredibly attentive they all were, and how they all seemed (whether it was acting or not is irrelevant) to really enjoy working there. The food was incredible. The portions are tiny, but after six courses, I could not have had another one without feeling uncomfortable. The wine is also expensive ($15 per glass), but the wines we had were really good and, given everything else, worth the price. Overall, an outstanding experience.

We dined at Absynthe last thursday with a bit of trepidation having read the reviews. What a surprise the food was innovative and yummy, each dish with its own unique flavours as a degustation should be. The drinks list was priced as it should have been for this sort of restaurant, the champagne and absynthe cocktail a wonder. Thanks for a great evening out.
