AEC Hallam

This is honestly the worst vet, don't even bother coming here. My puppy broke her leg and i took her here. We waited for 2 hours and even at one point while the place was completely empty no one had even bothered to check her out. The staff were incompetent and some staff were just wondering around leaving only one vet to look after patients. Not to mention there was a room with at least 3 vets casually chatting and having food and socialising. When the vet had finally come to see us, he had said he could not do anything and required an x-ray, but could not do it that night as my puppy was not a priority..... So 2 hours lost and $160 out of pocket for something the vet could have told me in less than 2 minutes. Absolutely useless people working there. And to top it off all the doctor did was prescribe some pain killers which when i took my puppy to a PROFESSIONAL veterinary clinic had told me those pain killers were too strong for puppies, even with the small dosage that we gave her.

I was not impressed with the service I recieved at AEC, although it was quick and they had my cat in to see a vet as soon as we got in there. I was unaware a standard consultation fee was $160.00. I felt very rushed and didn't understand what had to be done fully. After a 5 minuite chat they explained that tiger needs an operation which would cost $1500 in total. I simply explained I couldn't afford this being 19 years old and living payslip to payslip, I was sadened to see how money hungry they were and no compassion what so ever! I ended up leaving after paying $400 just for a talk with a vet some pain relief and some antibiotics. Add another 60$ for them to shave my cats tail only to leave home with him and a open wound... I was almost in tears! OVER PRICED I will not go there again!

Worst experience of our lives! Dont go to AEC, take your chances elsewhere. We got charged just under 2k and all they did was take some scans of our dog that they could not even read and then charged us for an expert opinion, they drugged our dog up and sent us away not knowing what the issue was.He ended up getting better based on what our own VET told us and our own research. 2K for drugs, scans, a cage and an IV drip! STAY AWAY FROM AEC they exploit people because they know there are no other options on public holidays, after hours and on weekends!
