My wife and I went to buy some stuff from ALDI store at Franklin Street (Victoria), after standing in the line we go to the checkout and the register there first asked me: “can you please put you stuff over there?” Well we already put anything we want to buy from Aldi on the table, so I asked the guy if what he meant is the stuff on the plastic bag that I bought from Woolies just before I went to Aldi. And he said: ”Do you want to buy those?” and I said “No” because these are mine why would i buy my own stuff? And then he told us to walk out the line and leave the store. What a joke??? So my wife said (for the second time) that we already put everything we want to buy from Aldi on the table. Then the register guy continues his job with the customer before us with something that they laugh about. I was very..very angry since it was the second times the registers on Aldi doing exactly the same thing to us. So when it was my turn I ask him: “Do you want to check my bag?” and then he said “No, it's OK” but still I give my bag right in front of his face and then he awkwardly said: “These are not from our store”. And I think: “Yes of course, what an idiot!” Do we look like a thief to you? This is so rude! Why don't they put a security guard at the entrance to check or even tell customers to leave their bag? In that way they won't have to be so suspicious and rude to customer. I'm an Indonesian, almost every supermarkets in my country put security guy at the front door and ask people to leave their bags over there or sealed the bag with security tag. You might think it's complicated, but this system works and they don't have to be suspicious without reason and the most important is they don't have to be rude and impolite. I'm so impressed with so many systems and how things work in Australia, but I can make sure that ALDI is not one of those.. never! uh, well ALDI is not from Australia anyway…although some of their employees probably are. Two of their rude employees are Asians though, not sure about their nationality. I'm not trying to be racists here since I'm an Asian too. We've been with ALDI (as customer) for almost a year, including ALDI store at Preston when we lived there, but these stupid things just happened recently. They take money from customers in they treated like this? What's wrong with these you ALDI's employees, they can't even say “I'm sorry” or speak politely to the consumers. Is that your corporate culture? Just because you sell cheap doesn't mean your customers are cheap! I've been to Coles and Woolies, and I can tell you that they are much more polite and cultured than you guys. Enough is enough! I'd rather pay more price with them now than buy anything from ALDI with their uneducated employees.
