Nice pool, aircons need upgrading!

Great value for money. Resort with onsite swimming pool and made of individual small villas with big verandas. No restaurant at the hotel and it's quite a walk to the city center (min 15 mins)

By solo traveller - booking via internet. Positive: Free pick up from airport. Plenty of room in chalet for one or two. Not connected to others so quieter than many hotel rooms. Very pretty outlook near swimming pool. Pleased with kitchenette and hot drink sachets. Two new clothes dryers in laundry. Staff friendly. Large spider webs on ceiling removed. Negative: Toilet not cleaned during my weeks stay. Only air freshener used. No shampoo or tissues. No free transport on Sunday to airport. Laundry room dirty and untidy.

Staying at the Desert Palms made my trip to Alice Springs all the more enjoyable, especially since I've heard about others closer to town, like the Plaza Hotel, which apparently ruins peoples visit to Alice. The Desert Palms is clean, comfortable, and has everything the budget traveller needs. After exploring the town and surrounds for a day, i didn't feel it nessesary to venture much farther than this resort. The pool is great, staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and have a kitchen with cooking facilities, bathroom large and clean, bed very comfortable, aircon worked, tv worked, all with privacy and a large verandah. Would recomend this to anyone, and I'll certainly go back.
