Swim school classes, and the kids pool are always very crowded. As they only have room to do activities one at a time, it means your child will spend around 4-5 minutes of a typical half hour lesson actually in the water. Teachers are fine (when they can make themselves heard over the din), but progress is painfully slow.

I previously criticised the pool for a lack of lap-lanes during the day, but this was a mis-reading of the timetable. There are plenty. Up sides are I found the staff to be friendly and the change rooms are better than average. I was disappointed to see they started charging for locker keys since I first swam here. I didn't see the problem with their previous system of exchanging identification for key. Water is a little warm for me personally..

A couple of things: -The website says Black Street, Enmore but it is actually in Marrickville (they're going all 'The Vic Enmore' on us - no need to be ashamed of Marrickville). -Swim lessons a bit all over the place. Some instructors do a good job, others not so much. Otherwise, a good centre that's pretty family friendly.

The pool and general facility is well planned open and staff helpfull. The gym equipment is pretty good - slightly crowded and this is the main problem - not enough space or rooms for classes. Yoga class is held in room downstairs in a restrictive space - ONLY ROOM for 15 MAX - teachers are excellent so you need to provide them more room. Boxing classes are also excellent - they are mostly held in the park which actually works out quite well - except when it rains and they are held in pool area - difficult working out with chlorine fumes. Aqua arobic classes are great for my partner while I enjoy a coffee and time with our little girl at the coffee shop. Definately need to provide additional rooms for classes this is my main gripe. Pool lanes are okay - they are open till quite late so if you want clear lanes go after 7 pm and its pretty quite. Excellent location.

Overall, nice pool and great that it's quite open to the air - so a pleasant outlook, and most importantly fresh air whilst swimming laps! Some downsides are the inadequate shower facilities (at least in the women's changing rooms), which meant queues - and that was a Friday morning, so I'd hate to see what a Saturday afternoon is like! Also, no hair dryers in the women's changing rooms - as with other aquatic centres in Sydney - which will not be great in winter. Overall though, pleased to see another great sports facility in the locality, and it's certainly well used!
