Fine food and a charming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the wine selection isn't bad. Prices are pretty high, expect to pay $35 for a meal and $20 for an entre. Fresh oysters (rare in Canberra), great kangaroo and delicious winter desserts.

Arrived on time to find that the table we had booked was still occupied. We were a little annoyed but willing to wait. The head waiter then proceeded to arrogantly lecture to us without making any attempts to fix the situation. What is the point of running a restaurant if you can't figure out how to manage bookings?

I was assured that artespresso was decent years ago. But nothing of their glory days seems to be left when you look at the dinner I had there. The room is crowded with tacky furniture and needs a good spring clean. Out side is worse, the balcony tables were quite gross. The menu promises some nice options, but I dare say, they haven't delivered for a while. What was plated up lacked any sense of balance or focus from the chef. ...and if you do want to address any fault/ delay, be prepared to get spoken down to. Their ivory tower is soon to crumble.
