Baan Pad Thai Restaurant

What a disappointing evening! Excellent food, but very poor service. We went in, sat down, the owner/waitress brought us our menus while mumbling something inaudible. We put our bottle of white wine on the table and poured ourselves a drink each. Then the owner stood at the cash register on the other side of the room and looking down at pad, called out, "Dim sims?" I looked around and figured that she was most likely talking to us, so I just looked at her. My partner, who wasn't seeing the "red" I was seeing proceeded to give her our order from our side of the room. Ok... Her daughter was at the desk playing a very noisy, annoying game on her computer and after the waitress walked past her daughter three times and didn't ask her to turn the sound off, I asked the waitress if she could ask that the sound be turned off. Hey, I work with children and it would be nice to just go out for a quiet dinner. She told her daughter to move into the kitchen. Didn't make much of a difference!! The service was fast and both our entree and our main course came out together - hmm, maybe she was just trying to get us out as fast as she could! I then asked if we could have an ice bucket for our wine. Look, the food is good, the prices are reasonable, but when you go to a place where you get the impression that all they want to do is get you out as fast as they can and you're treated so rudely, then really why would you go back?? (Because we live just about next door, that's the ONLY reason!!)
