The best park in Sydney? There's far too many for any normal person to make that claim but it'd have to be close. Sustainable, ecological and beautiful; this park is an absolute gem. Where else can you visit an meticulously designed park that has great views of the harbour west of the Bridge? Buy some fish and chips from Balmain and make the short drive out here or even host your birthday party here - I know a few who have. The lower areas are quite protected from strong winds and the grass is very comfortable plus the amenities still look and work like new. From personal experience the park seems to be very safe, even so at night when the lights come on to illuminate the main central walkway down to the water. It's at that time you'll find a few friendly fishermen and locals taking a walk.

A prime location to bask in the beauty of Sydney form a different point of view. The first time I came here, it was for a friends wedding and I was blown away by the views and design of the park. You'll be definitely surprised when you walk through the humble entrance and see that its not as ordinary as it may appear to be.

A hidden gem of a park, a little out of the way in the far reaches of Balmain, but worth the drive. The park is beautifully designed, using materials from the old Caltex oil facility that previously occupied the site, and affords fantastic views of the harbour. There is parking and toilets.

Hearty congratulations to all concerned with the planning and bringing to fulfillment of this lovely park. We went there for a family picnic (grandma, middle aged, and 10/11/13 year olds) and all had a terrific day. The overall conception is the first thing to hit you: the historic references, the displays of artifacts, the multi-level design of the space - every time you come to a turn in the path, there's a new vista of both park and harbour. A walk through the park is a continuous exploration and delight. The kids had a great time running, jumping, climbing, rolling down grassy hills, exploring all the nooks and crannies. The design of the "park furniture" - polished concrete benches, clean lines of barbecues, attractive minimalist toilets and basins, and facilities for the dogs... aesthetically pleasing available water, poo bags..... all is pleasing to the eye. We met other people there, but the space is used so well that we were well spread out, and all seemed delighted with the experience. Wow! This is a rave review. but I wanted to convey what a lovely experience this was. Again, congratulations to all concerned.
