Barrenjoey House, 1108 Barrenjoey Road, Palm Beach

Been here many times and have always had a nice meal. It is a tad expensive but given its Palm Beach location it's probably much the same everywhere. The decor is nice and beachy, very comfortable and the service is reasonable. It's a nice place to wile away a few hours over a wine and a long lunch. If you're into 'famous people' gazing, quite a few make their way here on the weekends.

Food is consistently good and a wonderful atmosphere - chic, relaxed beach feel. However service is very haphazard but have overlooked this because of the food and ambiance. Until today it was our family's favourite Sydney restaurant. Two staff members treated us very rudely this morning, such a disappointment. We will think twice before going here again.

Staff were lovely and the food very nice but everything should be first class for the price they charge - which it was not. My wife's seafood should have been better (the salt & pepper squid was pub fare), the bucket of chilli fries had brown, overcooked ones in there and to top it off the toilets were not clean - overflowing paper towel bin all evening.... For an estblishment that charges in excess of $190 for 2 without deserts & only 1 starter everything should be faultless. Dissappointed & will not return. Oh, & the view is special if you like looking at a car park....

Well after a pleasant Christmas day with friends I now find myself at 'Barrenjoey House' at Palm beach for lunch... in the background I can hear some 'chillout' music...does add to the ambience of the location...a pleasant scene overlooking the 'Pittwater' and my entree is 'Smoked salmon & baby beats' well... great presentation and fresh produce and my main course is an eye fillet with a 'chefs' mash and greens...again great presentation quality produce...well I find it hard to fault today's dining experience...maybe a tad expensive but you are paying for the location ! I am off to explore the Palm Beach location...a bit of 'rich country' in a city environment...well why not !...

Honestly - what is there not to love??!! The food is awesome (definitely order the lamb) and the view across from Pittwater is beautiful. The fish and chips were especially crispy and not overly battered and soggy. It was light like tempura and left us feeling good. It is a little pricey though. We will be back :)
