Basement Books

Excellent book shop! Everything is discounted which just makes it even more awesome! Variety is huge, everything is sorted well and has a really good variety, have found various books in this store all at an excellent price too! Very convenient right near the station/bus stop

Good place to find a hidden gem, lots of cheap books and other weird, funny or useful stuff. They sell stationary, painting accessories, toys and even (cheap) dvds and umbrellas. I love this place for a browse through on my where to somewhere, whenever I have some time left. The book selection is a bit limited but perfect if you are looking for a particular topic (e.g. cooking books or travel guides).

Basement Books is the place to go if you want cheap, good quality books. They are not second hand books either, so you can make great gifts. They not only sell books, but cards, craft things, you name it. They however do not generally stock all of the volumes however. Books can be cheap as $0.50, and they have sales often. Basement books is a great place to go to if you're waiting for friends. It's close location to Central and Railway station is a great bonus.

Conveniently placed right next to Central and practically under railway square, and it is a good place to pick up cheap photography books from time to time, but you will find them in the design section. The fiction section is well populated with the occasional hidden treasure. If you are after the classics here is a good place to try.
