Have been underwhelmed by the poor coffee and bland food in the past but the location is superb and I wanted to organise a regular group of people with mobility issues as this site is fully accessible.. rang to enquire if this would be possible. Got some clearly young person who had no concept of customer service on the phone and all she could offer to every question was a simpering, "unfortunately we can't guarantee that.. unfortunately we don't do bookings... unfortunately we won't do that" response. Unfortunately they don't seem to want customers and unfortunately they rely too heavily on their location to be bothered to make any effort.

Overall our experience was very poor. The staff were rude and unfriendly. The waitress got our order wrong, bringing us an extra sandwich that we hadn't ordered and then charged us for her mistake. When we asked for a take away container for the extra food we had allegedly ordered a brown paper bag was placed on our table. The food was very overpriced for what it was, and very bland. We will not be returning.

How best to describe my experience in one word - Frustratingly Underwhelmed would be it. ( OK that's two words) Why? Well for a start this cafe has all the right components available at it's finger tips for it to be fantastic but for several reasons it only manages to deliver something mediocre. On the up side there's the great view, lovely food and a rather unique location. But sadly it falls short on the small things. Having a meal served on an obviously multiple chipped plate is poor form. Later, when one of my guests arrives at 2:40pm she is told the kitchen closed at 2:30pm. When it is pointed out the web site suggests it is open until 3:00pm the response is one of indifference. But heck, she can still have coffee and cake! Speaking of which, the staff seem friendly enough but they give the impression they are just going through the motions. That sort of complacency can only be a reflection of the management. Given the abundance of other quality venues in the areas, none of our party of six seemed to be in any hurry to return for our next catch up. Overall. It's llike dancing the tango with your sister.

Nice view but that's about it. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. We arrived, having phoned mid-week (re: a Birthday table for 8-10) to discover on arrival that "we only do tables for 6" and "no, you may not put two tables together because you could scratch the decking". This information could have been supplied when we phoned, but no. And apparently, we're not smart enough to LIFT the table into place. We all sat for a full 25 minutes - no service - when we beckoned a waitress over to ask if we could have some menus. Her response "Oh, I only clear the tables, I don't fetch the menus". Apparently you need a Law Degree to do that. Another 10 minutes passed before we hailed another waitress who WAS qualified enough to bring 4 menus to our tables. We had to hunt down the other 4 menus ourselves. After another 10 minutes passed, I complained to the manager and asked if we could at least get some coffee, given that we had been there for over 35 minutes. I got a curt answer through the gritted teeth of a false smile, asking for my "patience and understanding" because they were sooooooo busy. Really? 6 or 7 staff for approx 36 customers - heaven help you if you seek work elsewhere. Coffee was finally served approx 40 minutes after we had first arrived, and the last of our party got their food 10 minutes after that. The food was very ordinary and overpriced for a cafe. The customer service was atrocious and staff show no intention of trying to please. We won't be back.
