Beachcomber Resort Surfers Paradise - Gold Coast Accommodation

All comments here are TRUE! I'm so regret that I didn't check here before I book this hotel! EVERYTHING is a mess up! So it's still not too late to change your mind NOW!

The location was fantastic, the view was amazing. The room was grubby, the door didn't lock and the dishes were dirty.

DON'T STAY HERE. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT! 1. We walk into the nice looking foyer and talk to the receptionist. 2. She seemed distracted, hummed and haahed before finally getting our booking. Then demanded a $200 bond for a prepaid room. (We were on a budget, that's an awful lot). 3. The room was advertised to have free wi-fi (only available in the foyer, paid in-room, but not available). 4. We were told to wait 20 minutes for our room to be fixed up and given a key to park the car in secure parking. Returned to find the reception closed by 4:00pm. Lucky the key had the room number on it. 5. two levels of underground parking, 1st level always full 2nd level is a death trap, no clearly visible exit signs, too small bays and a dangerous hook-turn to get in and out of. To exit the lower carpark, you have to climb the stairs or the dangerous hook turn to reach the lifts. 6. When we finally reached our room, it was shabby. Dirty carpet that had not been vacuumed, massive crack in the wall, faded decor, smelly bed (unsure if sheets and towels were even clean) , peeling ceiling paint, cracked furniture etc. We booked a self-contained unit (it contained a kitchen sink, yellowing kettle, dirty microwave, never cleaned toaster and a portable grill oven that barely got warm). 7. The only good thing about the room was the amazing view (almost made up for the weird smell) and the noisy washing cleaner and dryer (both had never been cleaned) and the good location (Very close to the beach and a block away from the main tourist area) 8. I am unsure if I shall ever get my $200 bond back......... The room was over $160 per night. Do yourself a favour and don't book here at all, take your money to a better hotel across the road for the same price you can get a 4.5 star room with excellent service. DON'T STAY HERE. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT! Each room/unit is independently owned, so don't expect help from reception.

Room was dirty, payed for 2 rooms (alot of money for 8 people) got only 1 room when asked the manager about the 2nd room he was rude and made the 8 of us sleep in 1 room some had to sleep on the floor.. came for a lovely holiday but hotel was a disgrace, laundry room is small and dirty sink is stained and messy, car park has wires hanging out of the room very easy for cars to be hooked on, people in the hotel was very nice and helpful through out the 3 weeks we have been here, also had a little letter under the door letting us know the hotel will be tested for bugs, the games room was very disappointing (only table tennis table) pool had way to much chlorine (stung the kids eyes really bad) and changed the colour of our clothes... if anyone was planning on staying here for there holiday i recommend going somewhere else as its not what you expect till you see it..

Where do i start, our experience of this hotel from the very 1st second was a disaster. On the paperwork that we had it said that reception was open until 6pm every night when in fact reception closes at 5pm! So when we arrived we couldnt get into our room. The after hours phone that was left on reception for late check ins was not even connected and the intercom on the front door didnt work. Thank God for the manager of the lovely italian restaurant next to the hotel who magically found someone that conveniently had keys to the drop box. Once inside the room, after trying to figure out how to get into the car park, lift, etc. We were bitterly disappointed, the room was disgusting, dirty, cupboard doors hanging off, not sure if the floors had even been cleaned because they were black! The fridge didnt have a handle the only thing going for this room was the view! After complaining to reception the following morning, there wasnt even an apology or offer to change rooms. We even bought some cutlery, cups, bowls and plates to use throughout our stay as the ones supplied were chipped, stained and filthy. The manager is all apologetic on this website but not willing to offer any help or solutions to the problems that were raised...not good enough. I would not recommend this "resort" to anyone - you would be better off camping :( I have plenty of photos that i can upload aswell if anyone would like to see them?!
