We stayed here on a weekend with dramatic weather including hail. The resident caretaker and the family could not have been nicer or more helpful given the weather; facilities were basic but clean. However, the ants here are a real problem - there are very aggressive black and "jumping jack" bull ants nesting around the camp sites which can cause quite a nasty allergic reaction. We had a total of about 10 bites over the weekend (and we couldn't count how many our dogs had! They were in quite a bit of pain). The trees are pretty but the "wilderness" is very much overgrown with weeds like lantana and wandering jew. The river was in spate so no swimming or kayaking, but we had a good time nonetheless! Just remember to bring plenty of thick socks and Stingoes if you go.
