BIG4 Wye River Holiday Park

After planning a two week tour from s.a to victoria along great ocean rd and up to the grampions and back my brother, his family and kids and myself and husband bought new caravans and booked our holiday, first park at pt fairy from sept 22 and leaving on sept 27 to arrive at wye river big 4 caravan park which we booked from sept 27 and leave on 2nd oct,we made our booking back in may 2012 ,so yep at pt fairy lovely park having fantastic time, we get a call from wye river asking us where we were and why we hadnt arrived we explained we werent arriving until 27th as that was our bookingthen told that no our booking was 22,we had email confirmation and deposits paid for 27th, the man at the park then said that we had changed our bookings, which in no way did we, after frustrating conversation on the phone were told we would have to be phoned back next day to make sure we still had bookings, this was not good enough as we were in victoria already and needed this booking confirmed.so next day a man named andy rang us stated he had messed up booking and it was being rectified and yes we had sites booked but had lost the concrete sites we booked as it was the grandfinal weekend,umm we not there for grandfinal we on touring holiday so dont see why our sites should change but ok accepted other sites, so next day we get another call saying they were changing our sites again,,not sure why but ok we still had sites, so on 27 we follow great oacean rd all way to wye river and pay our 5 days only to find that thaey have shoved us down the very back of the park, the last two powered sites and furthest from any ammenities, but hey still good until we try to back our 22 ft vans on to wat too small sites,we had to ring office and ask if someone could come and cut some branches off a tree so we could fit, that took a good 20 mins to get staff to come ,the sites opposite were roped off ,and as we needed ths area to pull into to back our vans in we took down 2 poles and rope. the bald headed staff man yelled at us for doing this, i replied well how the hell do you expect our large vans get into these tiny sites, please put us back on our original concrete sites we booked and paid for, he yelled at me, i told him please hurry up and get a saw so that we can get the branches cut and get our vands in at least, what a rude man he shouldnt be working in a hospitality position,we did intene on putting the rope and poles back up, the wholefour days poured and the sites were like slushy mud holes campers from everywhere trying to shift or pack up and leave very disgruntled customers everywhere, no sullage on power sites or drainage, a very poor run park and the staff were so rude, another family across from us arrived and realising how wet and muddy and awful sites were didnt set up and asked for a refund ,were told no so they also had to endure a shocking few days i was under impression the big 4 guarantee was a refund within 3 hrs of arriving if not happy but i will check with big 4 on this for confirmation ,tried also to get our gas bottle filled were told at desk a 20 min wait that was no problems hubby waited and then the office rang through to maintence again to let them know we were still waiting and man yells back well theyll have to wait another 20 im busy, he finally came and my hubby goes out to him to get if filled and he says hang on mate i got stuff to do and went and fed his face, yep great customer service,NOT would never recomend this park to any body dont waste your hard earnt wages on this park if you want a lovely holiday and as for the bald man you need some customer service training or get out of this business.we then proceeded to halls gap park gate and spent a lovely 5 days in a friendly well run park by big 4 there that made the end of our holiday fantastic so cudos to friendly staff there

Nice new amenities block, pity it was wet and slippery and inviting an accident to happen. Management should leave a mop in the corner, handy for us users to mop up after ourselves. Generally friendly staff, except for the bald guy on duty. Mister, you clearly need a break yourself or get out of hospitality. Powered sites are small in comparison to the other Big4. Overall beautiful place, great location, BUT claustrophobic.
