Beautiful spanish inspired food set in a warm and unpretentious setting. Great to have a first class restaurant in Warrandyte where there isn't a lot of options. Very friendly staff - I was there on my birthday and they gave me a free bottle of wine as we were leaving. Waited for a cab for an hour which never came. The owner saw us out in the cold and offered to drive us home (we lived just 5min drive away), which we happily accepted. Amazing! True story. Thanks Bolero's - we'll be back very soon.

It is expensive but it is quite fairly priced, excellent for special diet needs and WELL worth the money. Highly recommended.

Friendly, efficient staff. Decor out of a secondary school play set design with faux cracked plaster etc. No music played the night of our visit which amplified the coldness of the room. The kitchen is open-too open in fact. The food was inconsistent...two beef dishes were tried. Both dishes were very expertly cooked, but the seasoning, and hence the flavour, had the subtlety of a sledgehammer. A gnocchi dish was flavoured with what we all agreed was Keene's curry powder which rendered it an off-putting mess. The wine list is shallow: about a dozen listings each for red and white, no champagne. The sparkling wines on offer were third rate at best. There is also a rudimentary cocktail list, but that fact may be irrelevant considering how few cocktails I see imbibed in fine dining establishments. Based on this first experience it's unlikely that we shall return.
