Chess Moving Sydney

Do not use Chess if you would like your stuff to arrive at your destination within the next 6 months. Did a move from Sydney to the east coast of the USA. When I approached Chess moving, they told me it would typically take 10-14 weeks door-to-door. Based on this and other factors like price we went with Chess. It's 5 months later now (over 20 weeks). Our stuff still hasn't arrived in the USA. They held it in Sydney for 14 weeks while trying to find the best deal to transport it. Contacted them and asked for an explanation and was basically told "Sorry mate, that must suck". When it does get to our door, it will have been at least 6 months since it was removed from our flat in Sydney.

We have used Chess Moving on 2 occasions (one local move & one interstate) and overall I had found them to be great removalists! They made the process much easier and pain free ! When it came to the local move their communication and promptness was great throughout the process. I even received a warm follow up call after the move to make sure everything had gone smoothly. When it came to the interstate move our things had been picked up and transported very quickly. On both occasions our items were packed and unpacked very carefully and I did not see a scratch on any of our items! Would definitely use them in the future and would recommend them to anyone needing removalists.

The price was competitive, however communication was lacking. I booked a move from Sydney to Melbourne and I had to continually follow up myself to see where my goods were and I was given no solid or even indicative delivery date before I made payment. My experience would have been better if the company was able to provide packaging tips and I would have felt more confident about the move if they offered a no damage guarantee.
