I wouldn't recommend staying at this park, even if it was your last resort. Our family had a horrible time here. Despite the lack of facilities (one pool which gave people gastro, no playground. 6 washing machines that are old and don't wash your clothes. Two "camp kitchens" with the most rudimentary cooking facilities and 1 fridge in each + lack of shade or grass) if the basics were there (Cleanliness and hospitality), we would have persevered. Neither cleanliness OR hospitality applied to this park. Worst of all is the rudeness of the staff. I have never in my life come across more unfriendly and unhelpful people. I would've stayed at this park for a long time and overlooked all its OH&S issues (live power leads left in piles of leaves & boiling hot water scolding us from a leaking tap in the shower), all its cleanliness issues AND it's lack of facilities for the price they ask.... But the staff.. I just can't understand why anyone would need to be that rude, obnoxious & unhelpful. The maintenance guy is the also the creepiest person I've ever met. His unnerving stares and obvious lack of social skills honestly made me feel unsafe. I'm just blown away by how this park is still in business?? I think its the fact they allow dogs? Not many other caravan parks do in Darwin it seems. KOA is the only other alternative I think? Or maybe Oasis caravan park? I have no idea if these ones are any better than Coolalinga. But my opinion is - stay as far away from this place as you possibly can. It has to be THE WORST caravan park I've stayed in, in all my life. If you care about your safety and comfort of your family, my suggestion is find somewhere else. I wish someone had given me this advice before we came here.

Great place to get a peaceful nights rest, pool is the main attraction for me after working all day but after that a short walk up the road to the Virginia Tavern for a fantastic meal and a few ales, what more could you ask for

A week at Coolalinga was just what we needed to recharge our weary travel bones. The camp sites are very good on soft grass close to the pool and other amenities and available with or without power. The pool is refreshing and clean in a shady setting with sun lounges and outdoor chairs and tables. the camp kitchen is one of the best I have seen with full cooking facilities and a tv with good picture. ceiling fans are provided and it is privacy screened with bamboo or reed type screening. Toilets and showers and bright and clean. The budget cabins are clean and comfortable though access is limited due to the narrow doors and narrow passageway between the bedroom and one end and the kitchen at the other, no wheelchairs here. a tidy porch area provides shade in a nice setting of tropical palms with an outdoor table and chairs, just the place for an evening beer and that nice evening cool breeze. Bush knee Curlews can be heard calling of an evening and Geckos scamper about picking up their evening meals. the park is close to the Coolalinga shopping precinct for any last minute shopping and the petrol station is right at the park gate and has very competitive fuel prices. The park is also situated close to many attractions, only a few Kilometres from Berry Springs and the Territory Wildlife park, Howard springs, and alittle further south, Litchfield National park. To the north is Crocodilus reptile park and the Top End City of Darwin. Coolalinga is Pet friendly and a deposit for pets is required, and as always no pets in any of the amenities areas or cabins. an excellent place to stay , with or without you pet. Jacqui D
