For a convenient place to eat tapas in the city, Encasa is a good call. The atmosphere is great, and service is generally pretty good. The food is good for the price you pay and as long as you book in advance there's usually no problems with getting in and seated. I've been with friends a few times and I'd go again.

Encasa has a nice atmosphere, and the presence of live music really made my dining experience with friends enjoyable. However the serving time for get my Spanish potatoes and Seafood tapas well exceeded what I expected of the place and took nearly an hour an a half, despite the restaurant not being filled to the brim. However, I would dine again!

Encasa has the best Tapas in Sydney. Moderately priced and booked weeks in advance this place has a fantastic selection of food at very decent prices for its city location. The seating is bursting at the seems but if you can put up with the cramped conditions you can have absolutely delicious meals. I've gone for the set menu and the food just keeps coming. Otherwise you can mix and match and you will not be disappointed. The Patatas Bravas is a definite staple and goes very well with the home made sangria!

In any case, Encasa, to put it shortly is one of the best tapas restaurants you can find in Sydney. A true Spanish stalwart, Encasa will do you little wrong, and so much right. It was not particularly easy getting a booking at Encasa on a Friday night, especially what with Christmas season approaching. Book ahead, trust me. Food: it's that classic tapas-style stuff. Most of it was greasy, but all of it was fun. The chorizo avoided the mistake most people make in overseasoning it, and had great texture. The garlic prawns were great, but being bathed in garlic oil...be careful ;) Deep-fried zucchini is not always on the menu, but always worth getting if you can. I felt pretty flat towards the pardons (also not always on the menu), so order them if you like them. Otherwise, you can eat something else. The pizzas at Encasa are also pretty good, but they're not what you should be focusing on. It's tapas all the way. By the way, they have desserts too - but go somewhere else if you have a particularly well-developed sweet tooth. Décor: the place is bigger than it looks - it could easily seat 100 people. It gets crowded though, so expect the place to be very, very rowdy most nights. I'm pretty sure that's the atmosphere management is going for. Service: service is quick and efficient - you'd have to be to manage such a large number of hungry customers. The more people who eat with you, the more affordable Encasa becomes. That doesn't seem to make sense, but it just WORKS.

Cosy little restaurant with a nice ambience. Feels like dining in somebody's dining room. The food is easily the best Spanish food I've had in Sydney, and the sangria is absolutely worth getting. The chorizo is brilliant.
