This was the best site for a small van out of 14 we stayed in north and south of Perth. Others ranged from Big-4 en-suite sites to bush camps. Fremantle village has a special enclosed area for 18 small vans, with its own gas BBQs, comfortable kitchen with lounge and TV, and modern shower and toilets. Tents and larger vans are assigned to the general camp site, which also has attractive cabins. It was not cheap - $40 for 3 people near the end of September increased to $50 at the start of the school vacation. But I didn't hesitate to return. There is also an excellent fresh fish shop "Sealanes" near the Marina open 7/7 till late.

Well, surprise! surprise! I was just looking around for other options to stay at rather than this Caravan Park and came across some reviews that are very consistent with my experience there recently. The office staff often seemed disorganised and unfriendly to me, and the comment about making people move sites unnecessarily is absolutely spot on. I remember that EVERY time I went to renew for a week in advance there was a huge hulaballoo in the office about whether we could stay on that site, and sometimes it seemed whether we could stay at all. All these officious little rules. It was a joke because most of the time the place was only one third full or less. I found one particular woman in the office very rude and unhelpful, and there was this distinct feeling that you almost had to struggle to do business with them. Mine was an awful experience that seemed so bad it was sometimes comical. Eventually we left because on the day that we paid our money every week they insisted with no notice that we move sites because they had someone visit and specifically choose our site and without consulting us gave it away. We were glad to be out of there. We did find the ground staff and the cleaning lady very friendly, and they have fairly nice facilities. But truly, it was so good to hear people saying exactly what I told them on leaving - after years travelling never seen a place so disorganised with regards to sites and this was so irritating toward you just having a peaceful and enjoyable stay for an extended period. Funny, I would have thought people who stayed more than a few days would have been good for business.
