We have caravanned and camped all over Australia and GVC for a 4 night stay provided us with one of our most pleasureable and satisfying experiences ever. The owners , Andy and Debby were among the most friendly and caring hosts we have ever met, even to the extent that Debby asked if we needed a top up from town( an 80k round trip ), as she was going in. Debby also came and apologised for a bit of noise about to start, as Andy was starting to get things tidied up for the Xmas rush. Always a friendly wave from Andy as he went past on his chores. The facilities and amenities are good and the sites are nearly all level and well grassed. Heaps of wildlife and a resident platypus in the creek. BBQ area, Hot water in the showers and power to the sites as well. Pet friendly. Sealed road all the way to GVC. Main Range National Park with walks and picnic areas and waterfalls and lookouts only 5kms away. But Be Warned.... If you are into noise, generators, trail bikes, loud music, chain saws, and rowdy late nights around the camp fire GVC is NOT for you. It is deliberatley kept quiet and family friendly, particurlarly at night, and is advertised as such. Gordon Country may be a better option if you are a party group. We will just enjoy the peace and quiet, thank you.

Just jumped on to write about this beautiful campground and noticed the one below, In defence of the owners, we heard the noise and maybe it wasn't music but the gentlemen were rather loud. (no one came from that campsite came and saw us). We love coming to Goomburra Valley and the reason is because we know that groups like the one below are not tolerated, Andy and Debbie do not hassle anyone unless there is a reason. I give the campground 5 stars and will keep returning and thankfully the others will not. Great grounds, good amenities and friendly hosts.

Where do I start!!!!!!!!! Every 2 years myself and my workmates have a 1-night camping trip. A couple of us bring our kids. Our ages range from 24 to 54. After having surveyed the site some years earlier, I liked the setup and the tranquility, although I had received information that the owners/managers rule the park with an iron fist.... That information was correct, as we found out the hard way. We all arrived at different times, and in different vehicles. The woman directed us as to where to setup and a few basic rules. We were camped away from other campers. We started a conversation with our nearest camper as he wanted to borrow a shovel, and everything was fine. The weather was great, and the campsite was great. That all changed at 10.30 p.m. when a gentleman wearing a denim shirt and John Wayne-style cowboy hat approached our group with concerns of noise and language. We had no music or sound systems on at all. We were just 5 guys having a few beers and laughs, sitting around a campfire. After the first complaint we tried to keep our voices down. We were then joined by a woman who was our nearest neighbour and she had a drink with us and the discussion was around camp oven cooking. The events changed again at 12.35. We were re-approached by the cowboy hat wearing manager this time with a very terse tone in his voice, this time threatening that with one phone call he could have us locked up, or kicked off the property immediately. We were then labelled "rowdy drunks" as we were still awake and having a yarn around the campfire, as blokes do on a camping trip! No crimes were committed, no other complaints were lodged by other campers, as I spoke to all of them the next morning. In fact, one of the other camping neighbours were asleep in their caravan by 9 pm and stated they had not heard a thing from our campsite. Funnily enough, a strange alarm sounded at 1 a.m. and didn't shut down till 5 a.m., which was heard by all other campers. We were polite, we were neat and other than a bit of "laughing around the campfire" we caused no concerns to anybody. We have since contacted them to be told that we were a mob of rowdy drunks and that all the other campers had complained about us as well, which we know is false. They have also stated they saw our child playing "in the fire". How ridiculous. We were sitting right there with the kids watching them. IF THE OWNERS LEFT we would highly recommend this place as the environment is beautiful. The owners were rude, arrogant and have lied in their responses to our emails. STAY AWAY! The owners ruined our experience there. NEVER EVER WILL WE RETURN!

Our new favourite place to camp! Very family friendly, clean amenities and grounds. Campsites are spread out with lots of room for group camps. This weekend our little family watched 2 baby lambs being born, the kids loved it! We also got to feed the horses some carrots. Plenty of room for the kids to ride around on their bikes. The creek is awesome, with some deep water holes to swim in, will definitely be back in summer for a swim. Despite the previous post we felt that Andy and Deb were friendly and helpful, they let us borrow a power lead when we realised that we had left ours at home. Overall a great place to stay - we actually managed to relax because we felt our kids were safe.

Initial enquiries via email and over the phone were handled by Debby who was very helpful and courteous. On arrival, Debby greeted us warmly at the office, gave us an overview of rules concerning our dog ($30 dog bond paid and received back upon leaving the camp ground), and showed us to our site. Our site was massive, beautifully grassed, flat. Debby advised that the particular site can hold 5-6 family groups, so there was plenty of room for our family of 3 plus mutt to spread out. Amenities are great, hot showers, toilets, washing up area. Firewood was $15 for a 25kg bag. Signage to get to the camp ground is not great, so thankfully we had our GPS. Would definitely stay here again, much cheaper than Gordon Country which is a bit further down the road.
