We stayed at High Rising Bed and Breakfast and really loved it. The guest terrace was a real treat. We had one breakfast there and the other was brought to our room. How lovely. It was exactly what we wanted . The room itself was so peaceful, with stylish/zen like decor and views of trees. We just loved the attention to detail and boutique style. So rare these days. We went to a wedding at the Portsea Hotel and it was only a 2-3 minute drive, so close, but Highrising felt like an oasis in comparison. Our walk along the nearby Portsea Beach was just amazing . Lovely B&B .

Our stay at High Rising B & B was very enjoyable and relaxing. We spent our wedding night here and had nothing but a pleasant experience. Christine was a lovely host who made us feel very welcome. Our room was ample for B&B accomodation we were seeking. Breakfast on the balcony every morning amongst a tee tree 'beachie' setting was beautiful and Christine took a lot of pride in her breakfast cooking which was lovely. The B&B is located only a 5 min walk from the Portsea Back Beach (via an alternate access) and approx a 15min walk from the Portsea front beach. Whilst it's not waterfront, not much is down on the Peninsula unless you have a spare $10million. Very pleasant experience, thanks Christine.

For the premium price, Highrisings "B&B" is a pokey, single bedroom, attached to an unnerving woman's house, not particularly close to Portsea's main beach and village. The owner, Christina, was unhelpful, *painfully* invasive, and showed signs of paranoia. (No kidding!) Too, we were unprepared for the remoteness of Highrisings from the main Portsea area: by foot, it's is about 20 minutes to the famous Portsea Hotel. We've enjoyed trips around Victoria for the better part of two-decades -- this was a most unpleasant experience. Not recommended.
