I came in to have a look at the Bose systems as I noticed the great pricing on the website compared to the other re-sellers. What I wasn't expecting was the excellent customer service I received from the salesman in Mac Alert (Jay. C). I had specific purposes that I wanted the system for and wasn't sure whether it could do certain things. instead of trying to explain the technical side of it, Jay just let me play with the system and test out all of the things I had been concerned about. Perfect! helped me make a decision in 5 minutes. This more personal experience was something that other bose re-sellers weren't offering. They just played me a demo disc that didn't answer any of my questions. Jay allowed me to play my own music, which was important to me because this is what would be played on the system, not a demo tape. Cant wait to pick up my system!

Was a long time Next Byte customer until I couldn't be bothered with their lax demeanour and attitude anymore. Went to Mac Alert after hearing a couple good things and was very impressed. They actually took the time to make sure I was getting the right computer; not just trying to sell me the first one I pointed at. The sales guys know their stuff and I'd feel very confident going back for anything Mac related.

I recently had troubles with my Mac not booting up or anything, truth be told I went to Next Byte first and they told me it would be at least 3 weeks before my machine would be fixed! (as a uni student I live off of my laptop) So my friend told me about this other mac store on south road, and what did you know, the friendly faces I saw entering the bright and cheerful looking store really made me feel more comfortable already, The service guys were excellent i was quoted a week and a half for my mac to be fixed, half the time!!!, but it was great, they stayed in contact with me letting me know where it was at, and i had it back a week later! Definitely coming back for a tune up and RAM upgrade too!

Visited the store and enquired about a new MacBook Air 11". Told there were just two models - 64gb and 128gb, which were both $100 off today only. After coming home I discovered that the purchased model was discontinued and for the same price I could have got the newer 128gb model. The model I purchased was supposedly sold for $1099, less $100 today only. I subsequently found the model was on their own website at $1075, which means it should have been sold to me for $975 and not $999. Even worse, Good Guys sell this discontinued model for just $889!. So I am very unhappy about being misinformed and overcharged. I will most certainly NOT be making any purchases via them in the future and suggest others look elsewhere too.

I know if I gave the level of service Mac Alert provided, I wouldn't last long. I guess slick advertising, little competition and a fancy shop does the trick. I thought I'd support to local guys rather than the bigger retailers, but clearly a mistake. Went in to purchase a replacement power supply a few months back for a Macbook previously purchased there. Asked if they could test quickly with a charger before I purchased the replacement. Simple request. Nope! Had to book in for a $99 service and wait alteast 24 hours. Seriously? Went to David Jones at Marion, Spoke to Paul (Manager) who was happy to help and also gets all my referrals now. Short answer... Avoid if you want good service at honest prices.
