Pistachio Dining at Torrens

We found the service to be very slow. We arrived early before the crowds but waited 15 minutes before we got the menu. Entree took 20 minutes to arrive, pretty slow considering we were the only ones in the restaurant before the crowds arrived. Main course took over 50 minutes to be served. The good food however made up for the not so good service. Menu is very limited but good choices and reasonable prices. I choose the chicken dish and have never tasted such tender and succulent chicken - cooked to perfection. Other diners at the table could not fault the food. Congratulations to the chef. It's a shame the service lets this restaurant down.

Nice place for a simple meal. The price is high for the quality, but it is not very high. Skip the scallops on the entree and go for the duck which has a bit of tastiness. The mains are more problematic. There is nothing interesting about the bland scotch steak. The lamb which is $59 for two sounds good, but when I saw it, I was disappointed with the size. My friends said it was good, however, and they ordered it. The 'market fish' was tasteless and disappointing. I would insist on seeing the fish BEFORE they cook it. Not a bad restaurant, but not really very good. Maybe they will improve this year.
