I had heard good things about Scottie's; the go to place for fish and chips. Things must have changed since then, as the fish was one of the worst I have ever had. The batter was undercooked, and the whole thing tasted of frozen fish reheated. It wasn't cheap either, which is a double insult! The wait for far too long for the amount of people waiting. Certainly never again.

You know I honestly don't mind paying for quality. I dont know what has become of standards in the food & beverage industry. When you serve a hamburger its important first of all that the bread roll not be white,flat, doughy goo probably purchased from some cheap bakery at 5cents each. Then it helps to toast the gooey bread before adding the few shrivelled green leaves, paper thin sliced unripe tomato, beetroot the size of a twenty cent piece. Seasoning the hunk of undercooked meat might actually bring out some flavour & nice if it were served reasonably warm after a twenty minute wait. Never ever ever again. As a teenager during the 70s Scotties was a favourite lunchtime haunt for many of my peers & I. Some business owners are plain lazy & greedy with no regard for the customer

Found this place on last trip to Australia, was favorite restaurant on that trip. When found out was going back to Australia could not wait to get back here. It lived up to expectation the salt and pepper calamari was Great! None of the problems other reviewer had!
