Shilla Korean

I came here with an Entertainment book voucher with my partner. We took on board the suggestions from the menu to try the local cuisine set menu option and were really happy with all the meals. The waiters were really friendly, it was a quite night midweek so they weren't busy. The view is great and we were able to sit at the front overlooking the river.

I was very happy with the food, decor and especially the service. Most Korean bbq restaurants I have been to have had sticky greasy floors and terrible ventilation, Shilla seems to be very well looked after, the staff are very well mannered and seem to know their stuff. Congrads

Points for extremely expensive wine list, they make proper lemon lime bitters. Dessert ok, good location, good service. Beef tongue should not be served frozen and not sliced thinly enough. Ox tongue, should be sliced thin enough to be cooked within 30seconds. Not a full minute. Meat not marinated when served. The only taste in sauce was the kimchi

The food I had was great but I disliked the portions. I had a soup for a starter, which was bigger than my main meal. My dessert, green tea ice-cream, however, was quite different and tasty, but still not enough in portions. It was quite expensive, though.

I was disappointed with the place and it was pricey! The serves were too small for the BBQ Main Meal; they go by the weight of the meat for each serve rather than the number of people and you only get tiny little meat strips. There wasn't enough room on the table either for all the condiments. However, I came here for lunch once and had the Bibimbap and it was good but It lacked meat. This place is a hit and miss. The waitress wasn't friendly.
