The look and feel of this place is nice, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Unfortunately the food is very expensive for the mediocre quality and the coffee was below average. Since we were recommended this place for the Coffee we will not be returning.

My wife came down with severe food poisoning after ordering and eating the Risotto dish for lunch on the 25th March 2012 (after not having eaten anything since breakfast.) The unmistakable symptoms of severe food poisoning began approximately at 3pm which included violent vomiting. Fortunately for her she has with a friend who lives locally and who was able to put her into their spare bed and care for her. She was bed ridden for 24 hours afterwards and on Monday she had to call into work sick which resulted in her missing a number of important meetings. There is no excuse for this miss-handling of food as standard sickness avoiding practices are well known in every home.

I have been once to the Flying Nun on a couple of occasions but never again until they change their tomato sauce policy! I was annoyed to have spent over $80 on lunch for myself and three friends and when the meal arrived and I requested some ketchup being asked to pay 50 cents for one of those little sachets. This is very bad form in a restaurant and has left a sufficiently bad taste for me, a Samford local, never to return. Secondly - having to queue to order your meal sucks also. The decor and menu in this place are good but the customer service and consideration in this place leaves a lot to be desired.
