Veena Tandoor Restaurant

My first dinning experience at Veena was after being given a gift voucher (a groupon deal) to eat there as a present. The service was slow, probably due to staff shortage. We waited 2.5 hours for the mains and when the mains came out, the rogan Josh (which is meant to mild) was hotter than the vindaloo and the ratia arrived to our table when we had nearly finished our meals. I agree with previous reviews that the naan bread was strange to say the least. The cleanliness of the place was also lacking, the toilets were filthy and I hope not a reflection on the state of the kitchen. A friend of mine purchased a scoopon deal to eat there not knowing about experience I had, she had made bookings for two consecutive Monday nights in only for the reservation to be cancelled with less than hours notice via text message. Once is forgivable but twice is the biggest slap in the face. I have seen this restaurant constantly offering deals through different deal sites on the net, which would suggest that they do not have a loyal client base that return. Which is no surprise to me as I would not return for sub standard food and such poor customer service.

The food I have rated as fair because the overall cost was not what I expected to received. The Main that I ordered were not what I expected, and the Naan for $5.50 per piece was strange, I personally have never heard of deep fried Naan from a restaurant that boasts a Tandoori oven. As for the decor, we arrived at 19:00 - sunset at the time, yet there were no curtains to shield customers, this resulted in a lot of us being blinded at the time. I hope that everyone else's experience is more pleasant than mine.

Love the taste of their food. They got their own Indian/Thai/Malaysian flavor. However the management needs major improvements towards customer service.
