Werribee Zoo is a great experience for all ages, I went with my partner and we're both in our 20's. The safari is a great experience and very unique. the restaurant was high quality and the little shop was quite cute too. On the downside we got through the park very quickly.

Fantastic. Good children are free, but bring your own picnic as the food is expensive. Do the toddler bus if you have toddlers. If it's hot, spend time at the hippo water feature

I visit this wonderful place every 2 years! This is my 5th trip now and Werribee Open Range Zoo never fails to impress me! If you are going in a large group (at least 15+ and up), be sure to book out a "private" bus to accommodate your friends! No extra cost!

I went to the night safari last night. I was so disappointed. First, it was raining which we had not known it would be a week prior to booking but that was fine, we decided to make the best of it. On arrival in werribie, there is a lack of signs so it is difficult to navigate in the dark and find the place. Second, the tiny carpark was packed and we had to park on the side of the road leading out (no signage to say you cant thankfully) We then raced to the entrance through the rain to be halted by a long line of families standing in the rain!! I mean come on people - provide some shelter. After booking online, you expect no to have to go up to the ticket box and go through the motions but still have to. When we got in we used the facilities. We were surprised by how small the park was. MInd you tickets are $55 for adults AND children so it is enormously expensive for what it is - most people have to travel a fair distance too just to get there. There was a big pavilion/cafe, we ran through the rain to get inside and it was packed to the brim, all tables taken as well as many families standing. We were told all meals including a slice of cake (which was already on display) would take 20-25mins to prepare but we had to be at the 'safari station' 10mins early so were told not enough time yet they tell you to go to the cafe at 6:30pm and then be at the safari station by 6:50pm what the?! So we were left with dry and burnt biscuits for dinner - which were $3.50 each. There were some basic but soggy sandwiches and foccacias pre made but not into the soggy bread - sorry. Okay, so then we head to the safari station where we saw to the left a show going on which didn't seem that exciting (as with the puppet show in the cafe) so we walked over to where the safari open bus had just pulled up to be told 'go and watch the show with the other people, ill be back in 15mins' another 'what the'?? So we sat and waited but I wouldn't advise that as hordes of people will suddenly arrive and stand at the gate so that you end up behind them. Look, this was a Sunday night. It is winter, it was raining. We expected it to be a lot quieter but there were at least 100 people waiting to get on the one and only bus waiting there that could hold maybe 30? There should be 3 or 4 of the vehicles. Overall it was miserable in the rain. The facilities aren't up to scratch and should be a lot better for $55 a head. You can go to the Melbourne Zoo for cheaper plus kids are free on school holidays etc and there are way more animals. I've also been in the rain and still enjoyed that zoo.

Good venue. But a downside is take cash with you, for an attraction like this to survive in the 21st century it needs an ATM, all stores have eftpos but require a minimum purchase of $10 - $20 and are reluctant to offer cash out. On the whole the experience was soured a little because of this one oversight.
