A Salt & Battery Fish Grill

Update: the place has unfortunately closed down!! Nooooo.... Best fish and chips certainly on this side of town. Salt and Pepper Calamari is a must have.

This used to be a great spot in St Lucia. Unfortunately, it has dropped down to pretty mediocre. I was there last night, and will reconsider going again. The atmosphere of the place was terrible. The cook was yelling abuse at all his staff the whole time. You could tell that the customers felt uneasy, and many just left. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff there. They're young, and you could tell they felt stressed and undervalued, but they kept a brave face. Shame on the cook for destroying the atmosphere and reputation of what used to be a Hawken Village hotspot. The quality of the food has also dropped considerably in the last couple of years. Gone are the days of the best hot chips in Brisbane.

Best fish and chips in the area. Grilled salmon + salad + chips every time.

The burgers are great but a few more chips would we nice. The pricing is pretty good too considering Burger Urge up the street charges more and their burgers are mediocre at best

It used to be reasonably good value, but it is seriously overpriced now, especially for takeaway. I know the clientele can afford it, but we spent $45 on a few pieces of fish, other bits and pieces and were supprised to get a littlish tray to take away. ( I even had to check inside to make sure they got everything!- as I thought I only had half the order!).
