Alchemy Restaurant & Bar

I've been abroad in Brisbane for 7 months on my gap year and my Mum came over for a business trip, managing to sneak a weekend to see me. Overjoyed, I wanted to take her out for the first meal I've ever paid for. So I chose Alchemy from reviews and other people's suggestions. And they did not let me down! My Mum's flight was delayed and we were late, so I called in and asked if my booking could be pushed an hour ahead, and they said not a problem. We then got a bit lost on our way and we were a bit late to the time, but the waitress was very helpful with directions on the phone and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. I can't remember exactly what we ordered, but the wine was great, our fish was tasty and our desserts were impeccable. We were thoroughly stuffed and our server was top notch with great wine and food suggestions. We even caught a little demonstration on the cooking with liquid nitrogen and the staff were lovely to us, despite us staying until just after midnight! Wonderful experience, and paid around $200 for starter, main, dessert and wine. My mum was so pleased and as was I, thank you so much Alchemy for making it a very special evening.

Very good food, I had the special of beef cheeks. Loved our waiter who was friendly and engaging. A nice change from most Brisbane places I visit. I made a booking for a birthday dinner but they forgot the dessert I ordered ahead of time. That was disappointing since it was a 40th. I spoke to the manager too to arrange this. ohh well. $275 for dinner for two and wine.

We liked Alchemy. Service was good. I'm finding it harder and harder to be impressed at fine dining restaurants but this was definitely better than most I've tried.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great menu, delicious food, great for dates, molecular gastronomy is a must try!

A bit expensive but still the best meal I've had in Bris.
