Well! If you haven't been in the last 3 weeks...your missing out! Having worked for Kitty & Erich for many years, I was so excited when I got the call that they were taking over the restaurant at the Austrian Club in Frenchs Forest. I'd been craving Erich's Pork Knuckle (Haxe) with Sauerkraut, sautéed potatoes & gravy (I'm salivating just writing this LOL) for too long & when I finally got the chance...it was better than I remembered. Kitty & Erich's loyal dinners are flocking to the club already knowing what they're ordering. Making my job easy :) Some of the comment I've received from dinners are; "Best food they've ever had here", "Haven't been to the club for a while, but will be coming back...regularly", "Finally some true traditional Austrian meals. I'll be telling all my Austrian friends" (eg. Hascheeknoedel & Sulze) Okay...enough bragging. Hope you find this incentive enough to visit us here at the Austrian Club at Frenchs Forest. Highly recommend the Schnitzel, Pork Knuckle, Crumbed Mushrooms, Apple Strudel & the list goes on :) See you soon, Sabrina

WOW, this place has really dropped the ball - We used to come here all the time and then had a couple of bad experiences, we tried it again tonight - just in case it had picked up.. What a mistake. The cover charge is too high, the food took over 90 minutes to come out and was stone cold, some meals were missing ingredients and when we asked - the waitress said - "Ohh yeah, they are not really on the ball are they" - but no offer to fix things or offer a solution. The band was way too loud and you could not here the person next to you even when screaming. This used to be a good place and we happliy came here for over 10 years - but sadly - it's turned to $hit. Don't bother coming for the maypole celebration either - that is no longer done but they still charge cover charge for $hit band, $hit service, $hit food. I am so angry at myself for thinking they had changed.. Now I know why we stopped coming here a couple of years ago, Save your money and go somewhere else.

This is overall a nice place to go to. The atmosphere is very Austrian beer garden-ish with most tables more resembling bench seats than tables. The place is big and there is plenty of room for children to play and keep themselves busy. The (very Austrian) food was excellent and service was friendly. Prices were on the upper side of the acceptable range. CAUTION: Cash only! (That too is typical Austrian) No eftpos , no cards, not ATM nearby.
