Balmoral Boatshed

Great location and view but that's where it ends. Expensive, poor, ordering system and service. Whilst queuing to order I watched food sitting on the pass for 10-15mins before it was picked up by the wait staff. HELLO! You're meant to pass the food not just leave there! At 11.40 after queuing for 20mins I was told the Breakfast menu finishes at 11:30 and lunch menu start 12:00. perhaps thats while the food was sitting on the pass, no food gets served between 11:30 and 12. The Balmoral Boatshed has massive potential with the location and beautiful waterside view but they need to sort out the ordering system and service for it to justify the high prices.

Is there anything better than fish and chips by the water? Maybe, fish and chips on the water? Set on the wharf on one of Sydney's most iconic beaches, it can be difficult to find a seat but you can easily head down to the bar at the back to wait, seagull-like, for a spot to be free. The drinks are definitely Balmoral prices but you are paying for the view. The food, when it comes out, is of a solid cafe standard but let's face it, you're not here for the food. You're here to be seen - so don you Raybans and make yourself comfortable for an afternoon in the sun.

This place is the poor sister to the Boathouse in Palm Beach. For such a beautiful location and great fitout, the service is, well, nonexistant. Being in a premium destination is not an excuse for lazy service. There is no reserving of tables, no greeting upon arrival, no nothing. If you're looking for a table, be prepared to find it yourself competing against every other punter. If you find yourself becoming frustrated, do not, I repeat, do not order a coffee from the take away bar. I've had better coffees from an instant coffee machine in 7/11. There were so many things wrong with it. The coffee was burnt and the milk had been heated to point it was becoming a gas. The baristas need a lesson on making coffee from the team up at Penny Royal... While the food did look appealing, I would rather take 50 punches to the groin than waste my time going back there again.

Superb location, great quality food. What more could one ask?

Went on one of the opening weekends so was a little busy. Great food and the service was friendly despite the crowds. The place is beautiful - right over the water and the restaurant is done up really funky. Having to fight for a table was a big turn off though... a lot of people were not comfortable with it. Perhaps take names and manage the tables?
