The little corner shop restaurant, Bar H's strengths lie in the small things. What strikes everyone at first is the quaint, attractive aesthetic of the place. It's an intimate setting that at no point feels cramped and is great for small groups of 2-6 people. The service, by extension, is attentive and helpful. The sauces here are definitely the highlight of the food and you can really tell that Hamish takes great pride in them. That said, the rest of the food is nothing to be overlooked either - fresh ingredients and fresh presentation. Wine selection is vast evidenced by the wall that faces you as you enter in; you're bound to find something you like. Prices are reasonable, nothing too expensive but keep in mind that it's not necessarily cheap. Let yourself be drawn in there by your eyes, you won't regret it.

One of my favourite places to go for a night with my husband. Sit in the window and people watch while the staff bring dishes filled with flavour and you sip on a great house cocktail. Staff are extremely attentive- you never have to do the awkward eye follow to get their attention. A must go for anyone visiting Surry Hills.

I dont recommend this place if your hungry. We got the 8 meal banquet and felt like going out for dinner again. It left a bad taste in my mouth , not to mention the empty feeling in my stomach. We gave it a 2 out of 10.

Don't waste your time. The food was small, mediocre tasting, and over-priced. The worst part though was the pretentious service, I did not order a side of attitude but got plenty for free. The only redeeming quality is the location.

I love Bar H. If you are looking for something a bit romantic with a cool sexy vibe. Nice staff and the best cocktails then this is the place to be. Make sure you ask for their version of a Margarita it's amazing. Everything on the menu is great.
