Base Brisbane Embassy

We checked in at 1:30 am and were greeted by a very friendly girl at the front desk. When we couldn't get our air conditioner working she came up and helped (although it didn't work in the end). Bathrooms seemed reasonably clean to me, despite what the other reviews have said, but I came prepared with thongs so I didn't have to shower barefoot. I did also see the cleaning lady scrubbing the shower floor. As for the rooms, ours smelled pretty bad when we got there but it aired out upon opening the window. There were also a lot of cockroaches and bugs. Sheets and bedding seemed very clean. Remember that this place is budget accommodation. You're going to get what you pay for.

The base is above a loud nightclub. No air con so windows have to be open. Loud drunks all over the street. Toilets are nasty... You might catch something.. Walls are paper thin. Will stay away in the future.

Had a reservation to spend the night there and arrived at 2am after spending 35 hours on various airplanes. no one opened the door. they knew exactly at which time i would arrive. have been sitting on a park bench for about 4 hours now.

Great location, bed, staff. Bad things are the showers and toilets are disgusting. I dont stay there anymore because of them. NO privacy in the showers - there is only about 3 showers per floor and all in the one room - they do have shower curtains but you cant take your town or clothes into the shower so need to leave them in the shower room before jumping in.
