Bills is very consistent. It's been around for a long time but yet the quality of food and service remains the same with the food consistently pleasant and the service, at least in this branch, consistently slow. Be prepared to queue for about half an hour to get a seat on the weekends from 11am onwards. This place has a really nice weekend atmosphere attracts the hoi pollio locals in the paddington and woollahra neighbourhood. My favourite dishes here are the sweet corn fritters, sour cherry and apple load with honeyed ricotta and the ricotta hotcakes. It's pricier than breakfasts at many other cafes in surry hills but I suppose everything in paddo and woollahra comes at a premium.

Bills is responsible for notoriously putting up great breakfasts and lunches. Things you might not normally expect on a breakfast menu like kimchi fried rice or sweet corn fritters is well worth a try. Other favourites include the fluffy ricotta pancakes and the aussie breakfast. It's a shame that service is incredibly slow and seemingly understaffed. Expect to wait a while on weekends as it's a local favourite.

Bills Woollahra is an Eastern Suburbs brunch institution, perfect on a sunny Sunday morning. Stand outs on the menu include the corn fritters and the ricotta pancakes, and the organic coffee and eggs are a must try as well. Service is always friendly and welcoming.

Dear Bill(s), Let's have a chat you and I. After having abandoned your Darlinghurst restaurant for terribly slow service, I thought I would give you one more chance when we moved close to the Woollahra one. You are understaffed, overpriced, and too popular for your own good. Waving my hand frantically for attention every time I visit - to order coffee, then to order food, and finally during the interminable wait for the bill - is enormously frustrating. Having to fight for service is unacceptable. Your food service is frustratingly slow, and you're not fooling me with giant slices of toast and slabs of butter which mask small servings. Your bircher muesli with apple and date, contains about five thin strips of apple and a quarter of a date. Basically just sloppy, cold oats. The final straw was this morning when I waited 20 minutes just for someone to come and take a coffee order. Fed up, I then abandoned the thought of food. I still waited ten minutes for change and, had I not decided to forgo eating, no doubt I would still have been waiting for service by the time I left. You apparently had a computer problem but not, I assume, an illiteracy or pencil and paper problem. There's really no excuse for not taking orders or greeting tables within a reasonable amount of time. If you are going to charge me $24.50 for a cooked breakfast or $16.50 for fruit I want the place brimming with waiters. I don't want to spend time craning my neck and waving embarrassingly for service. The trouble is that you are pretending that you are not a chain restaurant when actually you are. And so everything is commoditised and rushed, and directed towards increasing margins. My recommendation is to friends and family - don't go to Bills. I'll be down the road at Flat White. This morning I was in and out in 15 minutes after eating a delicious omelette (which you don't deign to serve.)
