Blank Canvas Restaurant

Gone downhill since last visit. Wait staff very pleasant, long delays in service though, given the lunch menu instead of the dinner and had to wait for ages to get the correct one. Ordered 'scallops wrapped in prosciutto' as a main but only got served as an entree - thank goodness. The prosciutto was thick, tough and very salty, it totally overwhelmed the scallops and included a bit of rind aprox 10cm long!!! My son had the chicken and said it was very good. Was very happy to be able to have a GF dessert, orange and almond slice with cream and ice-cream. Only 2 wait staff with 3 in the kitchen - 2 of whom spent more time outside talking on their mobile phones. Would not bother going again

Amazing venue with beautiful views. Waitress serving us not interested in us or the job. Seemed like she may have been an owner and her mind was elsewhere. Drinks went unfilled, no specials advised, flat manner and drab clothes. The food was ok. My steak was over cooked. Not enough sauce. Fish was nicely cooked. I can forgive poor service or mediocre food if it is cheap. But to fail on both and charge premium prices is unforgivable.

While I can't speak for other people's experience with the restaurant, I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here. All of the food has been delicious, as described on the menu, and prompt. The waitstaff was delightful; we've never had a bad reception even though we've been here half a dozen times throughout the past two years. As for the music? It's been quiet dinner music every time I've been in.

Booked this restaurant for 6 people for 8pm recently during summer on a Friday night. The food was great. But the music they played was gansta rap crap and quite loud - ended up asking them to turn it down. Then at 9pm we were told that we had to hurry up and order dessert, because the chef and waitress wanted to start cleaning up because the place had so few other patrons! So we promptly ordered, meanwhile they started stacking tables and chars around us - very poor service. If they didn't want us to eat past 9pm then they shouldn't have taken a 8pm booking in the first place! This can be typical of the South Coast at times where they sometimes give you the impression that you are doing them a favor by being at their restaurant - be careful what you wish for ....

We came here once and it took 20 minutes to get a menu, and had to ask for it. Decided to give them a second chance the next day, and waited for over half an hour before we had to do the same again. There were tables scattered around the restaurant, full of people looking confused as to why they were sitting waiting being ignored while the staff had a chin wag to each other. After we got our menus, we were served another half hour later. One of the worst, insulting cafe experiences we've ever had. Although it looks nice from the outside, the staff don't care enough to make this work. Hope it changes because it's a great location!
