Budget Car and Truck Rental Perth Airport

Not happy at all... we've been ripped off... Why? Here is the story in 3 acts, you make your own conclusion. My advice: find another dealer. We rented a car from Budget airport from Perth to Broome. Act 1: Our Budget rent-a-car's windscreen gets hit by a gravel. The Budget Office we stopped by on the way to Broome tells us this is a negligible impact (around 1 cm star-like), that will cost us $50 to be patched - recommends to do it on arrival as some more stones may damage the windscreen between now and then. A plastic patch is put on the small impact to avoid it spreading. Act 2: After the car is returned to Broome airport, the Perth Budget Customer Service & Training Manager (CSTM) informs us that they'll change the windscreen. We let them know the other Budget Office statement, as well as links to various information showing that this kind of little damage can be fixed without replacing the windscreen. Act 3: The Budget CSTM however decides to change the windscreen and charged us over $350. They did so following the windscreen company's advice. Our conclusion: we believe that this company, selling windscreens, cannot be considered as an independent expert. What do you think?

This is second time I've rented a car with Budget and it will certainly be the last. Friendliness is not a word they know. They treat you like a complete idiot and they don't know how to have or keep customers satisfied. I've called to extend my rental for an extra day. This was possible. Because I didn't have my rental agreement with me, I asked what the rate for the extra day will be. Again I extended the rental with another day by calling them to inquire about this. But at the day of returning I was surprised that the amount I had to pay didn't match with the rate what I've been told on the phone. The lady at the counter didn't believe me and after awhile, the so called manager Claudine Coutinho, took over. This was even worse. She didn't introduce herself at all, not as a co-worker nor as a manager. The conversation wasn't pleasant at all and that's why I asked for the manager. She said that she happened to be the manager. I never saw such an arrogant and with an attitude manager. Why is it so hard to admit that you or one of your co-workers made a mistake and apologise for that. Instead she only responded that I must have misunderstood the amount.

We just used Australiawide Car Rentals when we hired a car in Perth. I can't recommend them enough their airport pick up and drop off is the best in the country. John & Jan Taylor
