2.67/3 We recently stopped in at Cafe 64 on our way up to Lightning Ridge. What a wonderful experience .... excellent coffee, excellent food and fabulous staff. The new Art Gallery attached to the cafe also houses some superb, inspiring examples of indiginous Australian art. We enjoyed the Cafe so much we called in again a week later for some lunch on our way back home to Lake Eildon. While we were there we purchased a beautiful painting by Frank Wright (see photo below with Robyn) and a magical carved Emu egg by Dudley Dennis. These will be our constant reminders of this wonderful place. We recommend it to everyone passing through Walgett; do yourself a favour and drop in for a cuppa, a feed, to look at the artwork or just a chat with the enthusiastic people who run this cafe.
