Caffe & Gelato Milany

Gelato is great. Tastes pretty much like every other gelato place, so good. However, the staff seemed a little socially awkward. Apparently has great coffee but didn't have time to try any.

THE STAFF ARE RUDE AND MANAGEMENT HAS STUPID RULES!! We have been going here regularly over the past 6 months and have never had a smile from one of the waitresses! however, we thought it was all about the social outing and not the rude staff......until. One night we ordered 4 ice creams in a waffle cone and one for my child in a takeaway cup because he wanted to take it home as he wasn't hungry at the time. We sat down outside at one of the tables and straight away we had a waitress come over and tell us that takeaway cups were only for takeaway! When I explained to her that it was for a minor who wasn't hungry and was just waiting for us she left and went inside and told management. Two minutes later a chef comes out! We were told by him that my child was not allowed to sit at the table with us because his ice cream was in a takeaway cup. He basically said that the MINOR was to leave the premises and stand next to the road whilst we were allowed to stay and finish our ice creams because they were in a cone. We all left before finishing our ice creams as we were not going to let a 10 year old stand next to the road because of management. WE WILL NEVER VISIT THIS VENUE AGAIN. Obviously a child's safety is not a concern at this place even though they are serving what a child likes best...ice cream. SERIOUSLY!!

There is a first time for everything! Today we visited for gelati. We ordered two single cups of gelati, yes takeaway. We received our cups and walked outside. After a quick chat with the wife we decided to take a quick seat to enjoy our single cup of gelati. Yes, we changed our minds and decided to sit. How long would it take to eat a single cup in 32 degree outside temperature - four minutes? Two bites in we were asked to leave by the manager (yes bounced from gelati) Why? Well we ordered takeaway which means buy and leave, dont daly. The manager did offer to transfer our now melting single cup of gelati into a bowl so we could remain at the table . Maybe its me. Are we tarnishing the image of this establishment by changing our mind and sitting down and eating from the takeaway cup? As mentioned it was our first visit, we didn't see the rules printed which apparently we broke. I wasn't embarrassed, more perplexed. Takeaway and dine in prices are the same, the difference is the serving vessel. Isn't it better to have two returning paying customers than two perplexed leaving customers. Thanks for the single cup of gelati. It was an experience that deserves to be retold to friends.
