Chatswood 24 Hr Medical Centre, 270 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood

Rude receptionist. I didn't have much confidence in doctors diagnosis. Didn't feel at ease. Would recommend traveling to Artarmon where it's cheaper only $70 as opposed to the $90 in Chatswood. Artarmon medical centre is much friendlier and more proffesional.

My partner went to the medical centre on a Sunday evening, telling the reception/nurse that he was experiencing numbness and pins & needles on parts of his left side, which had started off with a sharp pain behind his left eye and lasted for couple of hours. The nurse sent us to see a doctor asap. The doctor said it was probably something neurological, took blood and told my partner to see our GP the following afternoon when the blood test result would be back. During the night and by the next morning, the numbness and pins & needles had travelled to all of his left side and he had trouble walking. So first thing in the morning we headed to Royal North Shore Hospital, who triaged him straight away based on his symptoms, and treating him as a possible stroke patient. The MRI scans done soon after confirmed TWO strokes had occurred in his right brain. If the receptionist at the medical centre had rushed him in to see the doctor, AND the triage nurse had gotten him a bed asap, why did the doctor not send us to the hospital asap???

The doctor handled our 9 month old so roughly that my husband and I wanted to punch his head in. The receptionist was rude and completely unhelpful. Is this even a qualified medical centre? I mean they blatantly false advertise - what kind of 24-hour centre closes at 10pm? Apparently I have to give it one star to submit the review. Apologies for the misleading score - it's not worth the one star.

Seriously, don't even bother going here. We were recommended to go here by 12 Health with our 1 year old after he had a temp of 40 degrees. Friday night, 9:45pm and we were turned away saying they weren't taking anyone else. Two men and a nurse were watching TV in the waiting room - I presume the men were doctors because they were all talking when we arrived. What sort of 24 hour medical centre doesn't take patients?!?!

Truely the worst medical centre I have ever been to. I waited for 2.5hrs to see a doctor. Once I got into the doctors surgery he didn't want to examine me properly. He seemed confused on simple matters. When I asked to get a repeat prescription on my every day oral medication, he said "There are many people waiting, and I don't have time". I feel since I was waiting for 2.5hrs and only used up less than 10 minutes of his time, that was quite unfair. Another case here at Chatswood 24 Hr Medical Centre (oddly named, as they are not 24hrs) is that my partner was misdiagnosed for a less serious medical condition. Thank goodness for more competent doctors in Sydney.
