China Beach

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. The banquet menu is really tasty and very good value at $45 pp for 7 courses. The pork belly is probably the best dish, also try the massaman curry and the betel leaf. Good service too and nice decor.

Both the food and cocktails at China Beach are fantastic. Try the Azure Dragon passionfruit and mint cocktail-very refreshing. I'd recommend the San Choi Bow to start with, as well as the curry puffs. Location wise it's perfect, with views across manly beach. Will be back.

Arriving around 8.30 on a Saturday night, China Beach was buzzing. Lots of happy people enjoying an evening in the glam setting on the beach in Manly. Scoring a table in less time than anticipated, we settled in with the drinks and food menus. Me and my dining partner each opted for a glass of wine, with the wine list offering one by the glass for each style of wine. We each ordered a betel leaf each and shared split a soft-shelled crab starter, each prepared expertly. The mains were offered in half and full portions, and are meant to be shared. With 3 half serves ordered, we were content at the end of the meal. The pork belly and fried rice stood out as winners. I am really interested in returning to try their banquet menu. At $45 per person, the waitress mentioned that we'd be very full with the menu. Good to know for next time!

Staff friendly! But food very mediocre. Soft-shell crab not that good at all, Roast Pork belly meat tasty but a very boring dish missing more texture. Wok fried prawns full of coriander like herbs, overpowers the dish, it comes with a salad absolutely uneatable since is full of ginger strong flavor.. Charged my Visa card, straight after got a call from the bank to tell me they charged it twice. When approached them, they said it has been happening often, but then tried to put the blame on my bank. My bank reimbursed me immediately as a valued customer, but confirmed the charge came out twice from the restaurant. The restaurant should have done that, i would do that and never let my customer have a headache and leave my business potentially unhappy. Will not be back there and will certainly not recommend it to anyone.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at China Beach. The staff were very friendly in welcoming us in, making excellent dinner recommendations. The food is fantastic - an interesting take on traditional Asian dishes with some pretty interesting additions. The soft shell crab entree is amazing, as was the Crispy Javanese Chicken. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!
