Diamond Palace Chinese Restaurant

My family and I have made a habit of going to this restaurant when we feel like a good but cheap meal. We've been there about 10 times now and I must say that the food we've tried is great. We'll often go for the weekday lunch special which will get you an entrée soup as well as a half-sized serving of a main meal plus fried or steamed rice. My favourite is the lunch special with chicken and sweet corn soup and lemon chicken which from memory is about 8 dollars. The staff are friendly but they keep their distance which is what I like, if you need something they are more than happy to help. The only reason I didn't rate the restaurant 5 stars is because of the 'atmosphere'. I must warn people that it is pretty 'basic' and if you're looking for a classier type of restaurant you should probably try Gold Leaf down the road. Diamond Palace isn't the type of restaurant where you can expect hot towels, decorative meals and staff who treat you like royalty. The atmosphere is more of a family restaurant which is often my preference. So to sum it up, Diamond Palace, gives you excellent food, at VERY reasonable prices and has good, friendly service. Just don't go there if you're looking for 5 star fine dining.

We ordered two dishes. The BBQ combination was nothing like we'd expected. Lots of chicken scraps/wings & duck butt!!! For a nice decor restaurant, it was quite a disappointment to see such dish be served out!

I Love going there for lunch because they have the best priced and quality fresh meals on there Lunch time specials menu. I highly recommended everyone to go down and have a feed cause you won't be disappointed. Defiantly the "best in the west".

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN THE WEST SIDE! I love the Diamond Palace it is my favourite place to go to for top quality chinese food & friendly service. Not to mention how cheap their meals are & servings are really generous. Huge selection to choose from & all so tasty but my all time favourite is their Sizzling Steak! Our family always come here for birthdays & celebrations. When I don't feel like cooking I order take away or home delivery which is very convenient. I highly recommend this restaurant as they cater for all occasions & have been around for over 30 years!
