We stayed for two nights in the Lake Edge Apartments and I can honestly say that I've had better camp sites than this place! The place looked clean on first arrival, but after unfolding the sheets to make our own beds, I realised the sheets smelled as if they had been in a closet a long time! The shower needs total regrouting - the mould was overgrown in between the tiles YUK!!! We wore our thongs in the shower, it was gross! The pool was dirty and the spa didn't work properly. It smelt around the spa area and if you glance down at the decking, you can see how in between the timber, there is rubbish (mainly the tablet wrappers for the spa!). They stuffed up our booking, with no apology (in fact was told that I should have double checked it!). for $250 per night, I could've stayed in a 5-star hotel! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Arrived at the hotel for Australia day. It was quite overpriced for a hotel considering it is really a motel. Rooms are very outdated and hot water is not consistent. The only positive is the pool, BBQ area and proximity to the main strip

We stayed here for 3 nights over New Years. Initial reaction was pretty bad just with the overall look and rusted sign with the words motor-inn on it (I noticed how these words were omitted from the website). The staff were lovely on checkin and was happy to see swipe card entry to the rooms. I wasn't displeased with our room albeit a little old but some very simple problems again tarnished our initial reactions. A smelly bathroom, no towels in the room, a fridge that smelt of fish and having to wipe the cigarette ash off the outdoor furniture were all enough to raise raise a few flags. I was hoping the facilities would be the saving grace afterall they do have a pool, spa and sauna! Alas over the 4 days we were there we never ventured down into the pool area, this is not El Lago's fault we just didn't want to be surrounded by screaming children on our little getaway. This does raise an important note from our perspective about the resort and the The Entrance in general, backyard fireworks at 2.00AM, people louting about in what felt like tribes, horrible food available in the strictest of operating hours, a manky beach/inlet and inhabited by bad parents and their children looking at outdoing mum and dad. If you are after a pleasant relaxed getaway El Lago or The Entrance are not the place for you. On some more positive notes our bed was great, the air-conditioning was excellent and the rooms were well-serviced daily

Stayed here a few times with the wife. Good , cheap weekend get away. Close to everything (walking distance) Not a whitsundays resort, but good for the money they charge.
