Friendly staff, great coffee and food and a cool range of eco items, books and fruit/veg.

Not only a great political and social hub, Friends of the Earth is a great place to get a plate full of organic goodness! For around $10, it gives us the energy we need to work through the day! With a different menu each day, great people and interesting conversations to be had F.O.E. has gotta be one of the Friendly Moving Men's favourite lunch time stops. Kitchen open between 12noon and 2pm.

A delicious organic lunch is lovingly prepared here each day by the staff. The activist bookstore is filled with interesting reads, and you can also peruse other fair trade products. It is also a food coop, so bring some empty jars and canvas bags to stock up on produce and dry good staples. The cafe in front is a friendly light filled space. Love this place, I worked there for a semester and enjoyed going there every day.

Beautiful organic food and coffee in a calm and friendly atmosphere and lots of natural light. They also have a box of toys for kids. Good food co-op, interesting range of toiletries (just bought an entirely biodegradable toothbrush!) and a few clothing items like etiko fair trade shoes. We always stop in here when we visit Melbourne.

For organic, seasonal food this place is extremely cheap compared to other places around town. Its hard to find great tasting, affordable, organic food when you're out and about town. So Friends of the earth is one of the places that I keep in mind as cross from east to west or vice versa. Highly recommended. They have volunteers that help out which makes service a little slow sometimes but other than that, I give it the big ups..
