Food is exemplary, acoustics aren't great (very loud). One of the better seafood restaurants in Sydney. Oh, and they seem to have waiters who serve and waiters who just deliver meals and refill water, very confusing for both them and us, need to improve the system, but otherwise superb. Strongly recommend.

My daughter booked restaurant for 6:30, it was my birthday. I arrived at the restaurant first. Stood for 10 minutes, waiting to be seated. There were 3 or more waitresses swarming about, lots of empty tables, finally, one of them signaled to follow her to a table, the table was exposed to the afternoon descending sun, it was quiet hot and uncomfortable. I asked the waitress if I could have another table away from the sun, reluctantly she said that she had to ask the boss, she did and pointed me to a table next to the inner wall with a bench seating configuration on one side.....I wasn`t happy! There were lots of empty tables for two andI asked the same waitress if I could seat at one of those tables, again she said: I`ve to ask the boss! I waited. On her return, she said: OK, you can seat there. Finally, I was allocated a suitable table. The food: It was expensive, small portion, of mediocre quality, served on a very large plate. Dessert was good, small and again served on a proportionally large plate. My daughter paid the bill, which included $8 corkage, that I didn`t mind. Overall: The service was mediocre as was the food. Certainly no value for money!!\ Garfish is a money spinning business, rather than a real restaurant, where one can eat good for a reasonable price. No, I would not go there again or recommend it to others.

Food was well presented but overpriced, especially the starters. We had a seafood platter consisting of 2 oysters, 1 prawn, 1 fishcake, half a balmain bug and a minute amount of chopped salmon - $30. My barramundi was as described and tasty, but my husband sent his main back - thin fish fillets that tasted like smoked haddock. In fairness they handles his complaint professionally and did not charge for this. The cheese board was good, with 4 different cheeses.

Garfish is a lovely restaurant to go for a treat as it's pretty pricey but the fish is always amazing. It's BYO, but you won't see that fact on their website or menu! It is sometimes very loud in the restaurant when large groups are dining. Perhaps not the best place for an intimate first date!

This is a sublime sea food restaurant that makes innovative and very tasty dishes for sea food lovers. Set opposite Manly Cove, it has wonderful water view and at night the exterior is lit up with dramatic naked flame lights. The staff here really know their stuff, the service is efficient and the wine sommelier very knowledgable about wine and food pairing. Strongly recommended for a nice occasion.
