Genesis Fitness - Ringwood

Easily one of the worst gym i've been a member with. The equipment half the time not functional. And when I wanted to cancel my membership and went down to the gym a month in advance, the lady at the counter said it's fine, we'll prepare the paperwork and give a call. The call never came and after I went in again, the next person said that I had to give a WRITTEN notice and I have to pay for another 30 days cause the date of notice is the when they receive a written notice. So I did. Never will be a Genesis member again.

I have been a member here for 3 years - I am cancelling my membership in the next week and moving to one of the newer gyms that have opened in the area for less cost and more flexible opening hours. - The gym equipment is satisfactory but very poorly maintained. In particular, the cardio equipment is not connected to any TV/Music options that are advertised everywhere. The overhead TV's have not worked for at least 6 months. Often, the cardio machines have broken/missing buttons which renders them functionally useless. - The male bathrooms are a disgrace. The wooden pallet mentioned by a previous user is still there. The mould situation has not improved. - Water damage caused by heavy rains is still not repaired. Some of the lights in the Cycle room do not work and the ceiling in there appears dangerously mouldy. My gut feel (not supported by any evidence, mind you) is that the management are unwilling to invest the significant capital required to bring the Gym back up to expected standards. In the name of loyalty, I have stuck by Genesis for the past 12 months to support possible improvements but I have seen or heard no indication that this is going to happen. Whenever I ask staff about improvements, the standard line is "there's been talk of it being fixed, but no dates. Sorry." My patience has run out.

I first joined Genesis Ringwood in 2001 and have been a member ever since. It's not the newest club or the flashiest, but they have created a great atmosphere with some fantastic equipment and the best group classes i've ever done. It is a 2nd home to me, the staff are fantastic and they know me by name. Definitely reccommend this club to anyone.

Officially the worst gym i have ever experienced. Here is a list of reasons NOT to join: TOO EXPENSIVE Most of the equipment is broken or missing parts. Air con is broken and always dripping or on too high. The staff are arrogant, vain and generally unhelpful idiots! (There is a skinny tattooed dweeb of a personal trainer who i heard actually telling young blokes in the gym he could hook them up with steroids! also, they never welcome you and tend to hang around the guidos/heros of the gym hogging machines and equipment!) Staff never tidy the place, dumb bells are always everywhere and never in order (so annoying) The gym is ridiculously busy every day with groups of young blokes, staring at themselves in the mirror and dancing about like they own the place. (like being in an episode of jersey shore) Hardly anyone in the weights room has any gym etiquette or manners. They also have promotion nights sometimes which consists of..... Disco lights and smoke machines. Roided up GNC workers trying to fill your head with supplement nonsense. The dumbest redbull girls handing out redbull. An actual DJ blaring out the worst pop music EVER and staff in fancy dress.. This place is terrible, DO NOT JOIN. You will never get a good training session EVER. You will be surrounded by the rudest people in Melbourne and you will regret you ever signed up.

Delapitated equipment, the staff are bitchy. They hose down the toilets once a week. The guys have to pee standing on a wooden pallet to avoid the puddle that doesnt drain. The air-con drips into buckets. Cool place.
