Glasshouse Cafe

Coffee: The Colombian Reserve Passion: 4/10. Crema: 5/10. Hmmm.... if you have nothing nice to say.... write a review online... :-) Seriously though, this cafe ticks a lot of boxes, and my experience (I hope) is unlikely to be representative of regular service here, but I can only review what I got. That said, I was excited to see both a coffee roaster i was not familiar with and that this cafe had single origin beans on offer. Perhaps this got me a little too excited ...? So I ordered a long black using their Colombian single origin which was meant to have "fine layers of chocolate and orange with a bright citrus aroma." Instead... what I got was a "interesting" mix of melted plastic and wet cardboard. I even let it cool down a bit to see if it became drinkable... but sadly no. Likely this coffee was just exceptionally stale and perhaps over espressed, but what ever it was, it was nothing I could finish. The feeling I got from this place is that they are the best coffee in this area, and that large milk coffees are their stock and trade. As such, if the locals keep coming back they must be doing something right, and I was likely just unlucky, but I will be leaving it to someone else to review here in the future. N.B. There was no #powerwhoring available. It does appear that public WiFi is available via Cafescreen Free WiFi [Edit...] One of the people I follow online comes to this cafe twice a day, and said I was likely unlucky. Thus, it's probably worth given these guys a go if you are in the area. Until I experience it however, my review will have to stand.
