Great Ocean Road Deli

Food was ok, but portions were small. Fish and chips had one small piece of fish for $15. Fries were good. Service was good. Pasta was average

What a joke of a business. Service was horrible, my meal got "lost", when I asked where it was I was told they "thought it was for someone else". I was told that its "a thick piece of chicken so it takes a while to cook" by the waitress who seemed barely there. At the time of writing this I have been waiting 1 hour for my food and still nothing. If I hadn't already paid for my meal, I would have been gone 30 minutes ago. No wonder the place is empty, I would assume they get no repeat business... Edit: upon receiving my meal I was very disappointed to see how small it was and despite what i was told about the chicken being thick, it was infact the opposite, a couple of small scraggly bits of chicken with about 15 chips on the side. I was lucky I opted for cheese and onion as paid for extras otherwise I would have got a burger with only bun, 1 slice of tomato and a few leaves How this place stays in business is beyond me...

We went to the Deli Cafe Bar two days ago and found it appalling! The food took an hour and a half to arrive. The waitress did not seem pleased when we asked abt our meal and when it finally arrived, no apology was offered. The fish was inedible, it tasted like it was just defrosted and reheated. The chicken (daily special) was rubbery and cold. What a waste of time and money!

I recently went to the Deli Cafe Bar with 3 other family members for my birthday whilst on holiday down the Great Ocean Road. I ordered fish of the day which was supposed to be served with veg and saffron rice, however, the veg was limited to two pieces of bok choy and the rice was plain boiled rice and cost in excess of $30. Other family members ordered steak and despite asking for two to be cooked medium and one medium-well done all three came rare! I told the management that we were very disappointedbut they weren't interested and when we came to pay the bill the offered us 10% off breakfast the following day – not really good enough especially as there was no way we would go back. The best restaurant we found in Apollo bay was Buffs Bisto!

Where to start? Well, service was slow - over an hour's wait only be brought out the wrong meal. Overpriced, overcooked stodge with an un-apologetic owner/manager. Looks like a decent enough place on the outside, but really one of the worst places ever. The positive reviews must have been written by the staff at the restaurant, really this place is shockingly bad.
