A group of 11 of us went to the High Wycombe Tavern last night and couldnt fault the place, i had the chicken parmagiana which was huge (only $16) and the rest of my friends pretty much ordered steak & woodfired pizzas which from what they all said was fantastic (also decent serves & value for money). Service was fast & staff were very good considering how busy they were for a Tuesday night - full house. The tall italian looking waitress did a great job. Will be definetly be returning again soon with friends. Keep up the good work.

I have given HW Tavern no less than 5 chances to impress me. I would have stopped going after the first couple but family choice... The first time I had ceasar salad with cardboard chicken, the second time I had a seafood pizza that possibly came directly out of the surf it was so soggy. Third time I had asked the waitress what the specail actually was. I decided to give it a go after her description, what came out was actually almost the complete opposite of what she had said, but was also greasy and foul. Fourth time I tried the Steak Burger, how could they go wrong you ask? My "steak" was a giant peice of gristle". When forced to go a fifth and final time (with a large group), opted to go simply for a bowl of chips as I was positive they couldn't manage much else. All meals came eventually yet they missed one person's and rather than apologizing, slapped a "fresh made" plate in front of her. The service is poor, its noisy as hell and the food is terrible - EVERY TIME! Do yourself a favour and redirect yourself to the Boab Tavern. It's far superior.
