I eat at Hoggie's frequently and I enjoy it 99% of the time. There have been a few times when I haven't been too impressed but I love the food and the staff are always so kind and bubbly. I am not a big steak person however, but they have a large selection of food that is not red meat - chicken, salmon, salad, veggie burgers - which is very accommodating :D.

We chose 6 meals 4 of which was the prime rib steak. All the steaks were very grisly and very hard to eat with blunt steak knifes. I had the chicken parmigiana and my grandson had the fish which was good. The waitress dropped a tray of empty glasses beside our table with glass going everywhere and not even apologising. The waitress cleared our table whilst 1 of us was only half way through her meal. They had mixed up the bills with another table and left us standing there for 10+ mins while they went through all the evenings receipts even thought they knew the total of our bill. they should of let us pay and sorted out there mix up later after we had left. Not impressed, we will go to the Sovereign Arms across from them from now on.

My fiance and I go here regularly, we're greeted and lead to the table of our choice immediately (unless busy on the off occasion). The staff are very friendly, we aren't left waiting long before food arrives. The only bad point I have is one time I requested my steak well done, came out a little burnt around the edges. Now I ask for medium-well done and its perfect!! I dont know why all the negative reviews but I recommend hog's breath joondalup for a good tasting low priced meal and pleasant meal.

I found a bolt in our meal!! I have been to several of the Hogs breath Cafe's and loved them, Mandurah and Northbridge particularly were amazing. I have now been to Joondalup a couple of times and have been disgusted each time. I found the service to be far less than adequate, especially considering the prices. The first time out meals came out 15-20 minutes apart (on a table of four) and when some did arrive, the fries were very hot and the meat was very cold, like it had sat on those plates for the 15-20 minutes waiting. the restaurant was about half full, I can't imagine what they would be like with a full restaurant. The second (and last) time we went, we were celebrating a birthday and was only 4 people again. The service was again sub-standard leading up to the meal. My wife ate her half cooked vegetables first and then when she went to start on her ribs, she moved one of the ribs and found a 30x10mm stainless steel bolt disguised by the sauce. The manager was useless and despite being able to describe the pot that it had come off and how it was a terrible accident and that they would check everything in the kitchen after the service that night etc.he treated us with contempt and was unsympathetic almost as if it was our fault that a bolt from their kitchen ended up on our plate!! We were only offered a replacement meal for my wife and a discounted round of drinks for the table. When we asked if that was it, he became very shirty and beligerant. I have reccomended to everyone that I go near that they should keep their distance from this restaurant, if you can call it a restaurant.

My partner and I went here recently and were told to wait at the bar for 5 minutes until a table became available..35 minutes later and we were finally seated. We ordered, but 15 minutes later were told that they had run out of the steak so would need to have fillet instead of the prime rib (which was better in my opinion). A further 20 minutes passed before someone came out with 2 meals.. 2 completely different meals to what was ordered!! These were sent back and the order was confirmed yet again. I was then told shortly after that they had now run out of mashed potato so I would need to have curly fries. Amoungst all of this, the table next to us had their drinks spilled all over them which caused quite a scene. Finally got our meal but was so far over it at this point that it was not enjoyable in the slightest. Wouldnt recommend and wouldnt return as the Mindarie Restaurant, 10 minutes away is absolutely AMAZING, every time!
